Abstract:

Longitudinal studies are becoming increasingly important in industrial and organizational psychology. The number of publications based on diary, time series or panel designs is steadily increasing. However, the analysis of these data using traditional methods such as multilevel analyses or cross-lagged panel designs is associated with considerable limitations.

In this presentation, both traditional and modern methods for analyzing longitudinal data will be presented and discussed. In particular, the methods RI-CLPM, CTSEM and DSEM will be examined on the basis of concrete research questions from practice. The focus is on the practical application and the advantages that these new approaches offer.
