Psychological Risk Assessment at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg
Psychological Risk Assessment at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg (GBPsych)
The project for the psychological risk assessment (GBPsych) at FAU, in cooperation with FAUgesund, supports the university management in the health-promoting design of workplaces at FAU.
The GBPsych has been enshrined in the Occupational Health and Safety Act since fall 2013 (see: §5 ArbSchG). According to this, all employers must carry out an assessment of the hazards in their companies to determine the necessary occupational health and safety measures. If necessary, they must develop and implement suitable measures and check their effectiveness. The GBPsych serves as an instrument for analyzing working conditions and is to be understood as a holistic process for fulfilling the legally prescribed duty of care. The GBPsych at FAU is carried out step by step with the help of written surveys to record stress levels and moderated employee workshops to assess these stress levels and derive possible measures: In 2021, the assessment and derivation of measures took place in the secretarial work group, followed by the GBPsych in the other science-supporting areas in 2023. The roll-out in the scientific area will take place in 2024. The surveys & workshops on GBPsych are conducted by the Chair of Work and Organizational Psychology. By integrating the survey results into existing health management structures, FAUgesund ensures a holistic process that does not end after the survey. With the involvement of relevant stakeholders and target group representatives, action plans are developed and implemented in workshops following the surveys.
